The
workshop started in late 2003 by my passion for early keyboard instruments,
at the
beginning in collaboration with Gaetano Previtera.
I'm determined to make instruments in observance of the
handicraft
tradition, without using prefabricated parts: my instruments
are made entirely
inside the workshop, from carvings to decorations, from hand hammered tune
pins to mouldings; the jacks are made one by one
in all their parts. For my harpsichords I only use first
quality woods, as early harpsichord makers did. I'm a harpsichord performer, and this helps
me a lot, since I know
exactly what a performer requires from his own harpsichord,
whether from a musical point of view, or a technical point of
view. |
